WiBE Wireless Broadband Enabler

WiBE can provide a 3G signal 30 times stronger than a mobile broadband dongle giving you much faster broadband speeds than before. You can connect any of your devices, such as computer, laptop, mobile phones via wi-fi or the Ethernet port on the back of the WiBE. The WiBE will then automatically identify the mobile cell with the fastest download speed and then configures its patented multi beam antenna technology to ensure the best possible connection. WiBE will bring you a speed of up to 7.2Mbps with an average of at least 2 Mbps in even the most rural areas

High gain antennas. 

These give the WiBE the ability to connect to a 3G network further away from a base station than other 3G devices.

Directional antennas. These cut out interference from neighbouring base stations and prevent transmissions from the WiBE from interfering with these base stations.

Smart antenna selection.
One of four antennas is selected to give the best data throughput, not necessarily the highest signal strength. This key advantage of these features is that the WiBE can connect to the 3G network a lot further away from a base station than other devices.

The WiBE has a signal strength of -80dbm when at the same distance from the base station a best in class 3G router would have -90dbm and a USB Dongle would have -100dbm

In theory this means that a WiBE is capable of connecting:
Over three times further away from a base station than the best-in-class router
Ten times further away than a USB dongle
In practice, with hills and other obstacles the improvement will not be as good as this, but improvements up 5x have been seen in field measurements.
